Yen & Laveena : All Things Artsy

Good morning chaps! Below is a fun interview session between my friend Sze Yen and myself. We talked about fashion, art, colours and inspirations...

What type of fashion do you like?
Yen : Comfy, original and simple.
Laveena : Seasonal, earthly, chic, traditional, natural, cosy, comfy and smart.

What type of art do you like?
Yen : Martial arts and visual arts.
Laveena : Visual arts - ranging from crafting to textiles to interior designing; martial arts too - we're both lovers and practitioners of Karate-do; performing arts, folk art and literary arts.

What colours do you like?
Yen : Seasonal, but mostly blue.
Laveena : It's rarely a choice of colours. I'm usually attracted to shades, tones and textures. But I do have my occasional season with colours too.

If you could re-do your room, how would you re-do it?
Yen : It would have to be cosy, with simple or bare furniture but punched with accents of colours to bring it all to life!
Laveena : Mine would have to be engineered and designed to be cosy, efficient and space smart. I have so many ideas and themes, I don't know which to pick! Most probably light, natural; touched with the details that are personal and creative.

What do you dislike about art?
Yen : Lifeless perfection.
Laveena : Hah! I so hear you! I don't like it when designers overdo or sometimes underdo their work (and yet, I'm one of them, but steering to create that beautiful balance) !

Now Yen asks...
If you could choose a talent, which genre of art would you pick?
Laveena : I'm quite comfortable the way I enjoy a little bit of everything right now. It's full and rewarding.
Yen : It's tempting to think about yourself as world renowned singer, isn't it? But yes - it's nice to enjoy a little bit of everything...

What's your inspiration?
Laveena : decor8blog.com - ever since I chanced upon it! And it's my inspiration for about almost anything! From designing my room to the clothes I could wear to adorable crafts! It adds that little spring in my step everytime I've had my daily dose of Holly Becker - my favourite bloggist!
Yen : I'm drawn to the 50s and 60s. The era of Jane Austen and classic beauties! I adore their simple and natural ways.

Thank you Yen for the nice chat. I love your originality. I wish you a happy and successful journey of continued self discovery.

This is Laveena Kukanesan writing to you for Antara TV. I hope you had a good read! Don’t forget to give me your side of the story!

Til next time!
